In Bajina Bašta, on January 26 and 27, 2024. the final meetings of the project team were held within the framework of the realization of the PICK ONE LEAVE NONE project. On the first day, the M2.6 meeting of the project team was held, while the second day was scheduled for the Final meeting within the project. The meetings were attended by representatives of all project partners and all of them were accommodated in the Mountaineering Home in Rastište, which is certainly another added value that this project brings with it.

On the first day of the M2.6 meeting, the main topic was Presentation of detailed analysis of all results obtained from previous testing on fully equipped trails and Analysis and conclusions based on the data collected on the ground during the testing on fully equipped trails. After the introductory speech of the project coordinator, the representatives of RRA Zlatibor presented a detailed analysis of the data collected in the field in the previous few months. The exact same tracks as in the first phase of testing were tested and analyzed, only this time the tracks were equipped with info boards with instructions related to the PICK ONE LEAVE NONE principle as well as appropriate bins. After the presentation of the data analysis, the conclusions were drawn. What certainly makes us all happy is the fact that there has been a certain, smaller or larger, improvement in the condition of all the trails, which tells us that our principle works in practice as well. Such results are certainly a good basis for the sustainability of the project and we hope that this trend will continue in the future and that the outdoor population will accept and practice our principle in nature.

The second day is reserved for the Final meeting within the PICK ONE LEAVE NONE project. At the very beginning of the second day, we did what basically brought us all together on this project, which is hiking. Immediately after breakfast, all participants in the meetings had the opportunity to get to know some of the peaks of Tara and experience the beautiful views from the nearby viewpoints. And then, after almost two years of various activities on the implementation of the project, the time has come for Summarizing the project achievements and results. During the final meeting, the final steps that need to be implemented and related to the dissemination of the project results were agreed upon. Also, all the necessary preparatory actions for the realization of the process of drafting of financial and evaluation reports were agreed upon. The project was evaluated by the members of the project team as very successful with the fact that all planned activities were implemented according to plan I in the planned scope. The general impression is that PICK ONE LEAVE NONE principles are very well received in the outdoor community and that these principles will continue to live even after the end of the project. At the meeting, responsibilities were divided between the project partners and related to all necessary activities in terms of gathering information, documentation and all other elements necessary for the preparation of the final report. After the meeting, the members of the project team had the opportunity to present their impressions of the project in front of the cameras of the local media.

A special part of this Final meeting was related to the celebration of the “slava” of the Mountaineering association of Tara, which was also the host of the meeting. All participants of the meeting had the opportunity to get to know a part of Serbian culture and tradition and see an important part of Serbian intangible heritage. “Slava” is deeply rooted among all Serbs, and everyone was pleased that we had the opportunity to complete our project in this way, in a friendly and cheerful atmosphere, just as the entire project went.
