From June 6 to 7, 2022, the PICK ONE LEAVE NONE project partners met in Serbia to officially start project activities. The meetings were attended by representatives of all partners participating in the implementation of the project.

The first task was the organization of the Kick Off meeting (M1.1) with the aim of getting to know the project partners live, getting to know the work plan on the project as well as the division of responsibilities and tasks among the members of the project team. The kick-off meeting was held in the premises of Tara National Park in Bajina Bašta and was part of WP1 – Project Management.

During the M1.1 meeting, significant attention was paid to project ethics that will be applied during the project: – modest and rational behavior during the implementation of project activities (sharing vehicles, using public transportation, avoiding unnecessary costs in general); – no plastic (only glass packaging, use of tap water where available); – paperless (no printing materials wherever possible); – domestic and local products (food, drinks, souvenirs…); – energy efficiency (using energy-sanitized spaces with optimal energy consumption).

The second task was the organization of the M2.1 meeting. The main topic of this meeting was the Analysis of the current state of the field with a focus on the fieldwork methodology, including experiment setup, experiment monitoring and data collection. This meeting was held in the premises of the Tara NP Information Center in Mitrovac and was part of WP2 – Analysis.

After the meeting, the participants went out on the field and toured the second section of one of the two selected trails in Serbia (trail 9a), which also includes the training ground (Banjska stena). This field exercise was designed as a case study for all other participants and was supposed to clarify the field work methodology and remove any doubts related to the field work.
